Update on EWHC Annual Awards Celebration
We would like to let everyone know about two changes to the Awards Event. Due to bad weather conditions on February 17th and concerns about members’ safety, the decision was made to postpone the Awards Celebration. It has been re-scheduled to March 17th. Due to a scheduling conflict which just arose, our Keynote Speaker, Julie Carmichael, is now unable to attend.
EWHC is quite fortunate to have secured Pamela Galloway, MD as our new keynote speaker. Dr. Galloway is a general surgeon by training, but spent her last three years in practice as a breast cancer surgeon. A career physician, Dr. Galloway recently shifted her focus to advocacy. She served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 2010 to 2012. She now resides in Indiana, where she has quickly learned about Indiana’s health care environment, and particularly our medical malpractice system. Dr. Galloway, who is also married to a physician, will share with EWHC her insights as a female breast surgeon, her observations from practicing in multiple states and her unique experiences of working inside the legislature. She brings tremendous perspective to the topic of advocacy, particularly on malpractice, and paints a compelling picture of its impact on our health care environment.
