The NAIL-ing List: Neil Alexander's News & Happenings
Welcome to the March 2016 issue of
The NAILing List
Neil Alexander's Performances, Workshops and other bits...
It's March already - spring is right around the corner, and gigs keep on coming. I'll be at SXSW with Decora & crew in mid March. Thunderhead Organ Trio should have new videos and tracks. There are several new things on the stove including: an original project with saxophonist Peter Furlan; A new silent film series at the Wherehouse; plus, my workshops will continue (thru June). Here's what's up in March:
Friday March 4th 9:00 pm
Maxfield's on Main
713 Main Street Boonton NJ
MR GONE returns once again to the lovely little town of Boonton NJ where we will be burning up the bandstand at Maxfield's On Main, playing that amazing toe tapping hi tech jazz funk music. Mr Gone is: Peter Furlan (saxes), Ratzo Harris (basses), Terry Silverlight (drums), and yours truly on the keys & synthesizers. For a splendid time, come on out and partake of Maxfield's awesome food & drink while grooving to the sounds. No Cover! Music starts at 9 pm.
March 12th I'll be making my 1st appearance in Red Hook at the Bread & Bottle with "Cloudburst", featuring the wonderful Tony Parker (drums), Mike Colletti (bass) playing some favorite jazz, funk & fusion tunes in trio format. Bread & Bottle is a retail bread bakery, beer & wine bar. The restaurant serves panini by day, pizza at night, antipasti and dessert. There's no cover for this gig so stop by if you're around!
I'm pretty excited to be performing at this year's SXSW Festival with DECORAon theTOMSStage in Austin TX. TOMS is a really awesome company. For every product you buy (Shoes, Eyewear & more), they will donate the same to a person in need. (Check out their website for more info about this.) There's not much else to say except, if you're reading this, and you're going to be there, make sure you come find us and say hi!!
