The NAIL-ing List: Neil Alexander's News & Happenings from the world of NAIL

Welcome to the March 2017 issue of

The NAILing List

Neil Alexander's Performances, Workshops and other bits...

Greetings all! Can you feel it? SPRING is around the corner, and with it the usual explosion of activity! February was full of amazing happenings, the hi-light being the Lincoln Center show with Decora. It was a lot of work to put it all together but it really paid off. It was a magical experience, and there will be more gigs with that group as we go forward.
Once again I am truly grateful for so many great opportunities.
This month starts with a bang - Decora at BSP Kingston, a night at Marcello's  and the Funk Junkies in Newburgh. In addition Piktor's Metamorphosis returns and the Thunderhead Organ Trio continues at the Wherehouse.
Here's what's up in March:
Thursday March 2nd 8:00 pm

Decora

B.S.P.

323 Wall Street Kingston NY

Decora brings his cutting edge hip hop show to one of the hippest venues in the Hudson Valley BSP in Uptown Kingston NY. Featuring the music from his most recent CD "Beyond Belief", the band for this gig features Nicole Davis (tpt), Lee Falco (drums) DJ Trumaster Tru and myself. Tickets are $10; reservations recommended.
Friday March 3rd  7:30pm

Peter Furlan Trio

Marcello's
97 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern, NY

Once again, Peter Furlan, bassist Ratzo Harris & I will entertain you with an eclectic selection of choice jazz standards, jazz fusion and more while you enjoy cold drinks and some of the finest family style Italian food in the area. Join us for dinner or hang at the bar, the vibe is great and the music is hot. We start at 7:30 and there's never a cover.
Saturday March 4th 10:30 pm

The Funk Junkies

Billy Joe's Ribworks
26 Front Street Newburgh NY

Join us for an evening of the best in classic funk with this 13 piece band. Featuring lead vocalist Corey Glover of Living Colour.

Piktor's Metamorphosis returns to the wonderful Salem Roadhouse Cafe in Union NJ, for another evening of high octane classic jazz fusion from the golden age, featuring music by the Mahavishnu orchestra, the Jan Hammer Group, David Sancious, Stanley Clarke and many more. Always super fun to play with these guys! And the venue, disguised as a coffee house, is a great spot to relax and hear this amazing music. Video
Thursday March 16th 8:00 pm

Come out and partake of the fine food & drink while having your mind blown by the sounds. :)  Never a cover.
Thursday March 30th 8 pm

Cloudburst
with Tony Parker & Mike Colletti

Catskill Mountain Pizza Company

We aways have a fab time at this venue, and part of that is because the food is awesome. Tunes by Herbie Hancock, Weather Report, The Meters and more, featuring jazz standards and funk classics. Come on out for a groovalicious good time! No Cover.
