Welcome to the October 2013 Edition of the NAIL-ing List! October has arrived and the fall stillness is in the air. So far we're having a most beautiful fall here in the Hudson Valley. Things are comparatively quiet, with only a few gigs to tell you about. Here goes:
MR. GONE comes to NYC!
Mr. Gone - Special "Acoustic" Show Tuesday October 15th 7 pm - $10

We've been getting a lot of requests to bring our cool new project "Mr. Gone" to New York City. Well - we've made that happen, and now's your chance to see this group in an unusual setting: an 'acoustic" show. We've added a couple of great new tunes to the set and tailored the arrangements for a more "organic" approach.
The gig is Tuesday October 15th, 7pm at Somethin' Jazz Club, 212 East 52nd Street NYC. Admission is $10.00 (cheap!), and we've got the usual suspects:
Neil Alexander Solo Performance: Fundraiser for "Healthcare is a Human Right" 8 pm (Live Music runs from 12 pm to Midnight) 3560 Route 9G Rhinbeck NY
Healthcare is a Human Right is an organization committed to bringing holistic wellness care to all, regardless of socio-economic status. Since its inception, Healthcare is a Human Right has operated free clinics in Woodstock, Phoenicia, and Kingston in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York, under the auspices of Family of Woodstock.
This is the 2nd Fundraising event and a great line up of music is guaranteed in an awesome Estate setting. I'll be hitting around 8 pm, playing some decidedly "Non-Acoustic" tunes. Food for purchase includes BBQ, Fish, and Felafel; plus many of the Practitioners, Staff and friends will be bringing delicious homemade foods to sample and share. Bring a dish to share if you'd like. If you may bring your own alcoholic beverage if you wish.There is no set donation price; "pay what you can afford".

Scene Reseen: Live Music For Silent FIlms Shocktober 2013: "7 Steps To Satan" (1929)
Sunday October 27th, 6 pm - $10
The Ritz Theater - 107 Broadway, Newburgh NY
Once again Newburgh's own "The Wherehouse" celebrates Shocktober, and once again I will be doing a live fully orchestrated musical score to classic silent horror film. This time it's 1929's "Seven Steps To Satan", a film which created the "Haunted House" genre - with secret passages, creepy corridors, dwarves, gorillas and shady characters of all types. A splendid time is guaranteed. Tickets are $10. Check back for more info as I get it.
