“10 of 10 salmon prefer cool, clean water and forested streams.
Responsible forest practices protect our water and wildlife.”

You may have already heard those words and seen the image above in ads we're running online.  If not, click on the image or here to take a look at one of the messages we're proudly sharing about the positive role privately forest landowners are playing in our state's future.

Those are statements we stand on --- every word --- and they tell only part of our story because working forestry is one Washington industry in which being evergreen is an everyday enterprise.

Replanting three trees for every one harvested has ensured sustainability, and will continue to over time.

Responsible, science-driven forest practices have preserved thousands of miles of cool, clean water and critical salmon habitat.

And wood’s ability for sequestering carbon through its normal use as a natural, durable and versatile building material is increasingly viewed as way to meet our shared goals.

Meanwhile, keeping Washington’s sustainably grown forests working is one way we can support rural Washington where unemployment rates remain stubbornly high, often well above the statewide average.

These are reasons we support working forestry as one place we can all find natural solutions that make sense.

But we need to know what you think.
