Craige Borrett holding sign parish made for him. October is Clergy Appreciation Month

Have you thanked your clergy lately?

The Rev. Craige Borrett, Rector of Christ-St. Paul’s, Hollywood, thanked his congregation for their “sweet” recognition (shown left).  “It’s an honor to serve such a loving congregation,” he said.  Senior Warden, Terry Jenkins, noted, “Christ-St. Paul's is so blessed to have two priests called by God to minister, teach, love, and share their lives with us. We are truly grateful for their service and dedication to each member of the congregation. Let us continue to pray for Fr. Craige, Fr. Kendall, their wives, and family daily as they devote themselves to following Christ until his return.  Please let each of them know of your gratitude and thankfulness for their presence in our lives daily.”

However, today's reality proves that shootings and violent outbreaks are more commonplace and churches aren't excluded from them.  Here are some suggestions on how to make your church and its members less vulnerable.

Christmas at Sea – Adopt a Ship

2017 Christmas At Sea boxes are available for pick up by anyone wishing to participate this year. Email chapssmail@gmail.com with your phone number and how many boxes you think you can fill and they will call you to arrange a mutually convenient meeting place for you to get the empty boxes. The boxes are 9 x 9 x 4 each, and come with a flier advising the items to put in the boxes.  To adopt a ship fill 25 boxes with each of the items in the list, wrap them and return them to ChaPSS. Last year they put 2,300 boxes on ships during December.  Let's beat that this year.
