CityApp Goes to Sidoarjo

Following the two successful CityApp in Kathmandu and Makassar, CityNet continues its partnership with Microsoft CityNext through CityApp that will be held in conjunction with this year’s Executive Committee Meeting and International Seminar in Sidoarjo. The two day Appathon will be held from October 7th, 2015, in collaboration with Sidoarjo Regency and the partner university, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo.

Future of Cities Forum by World Future Council Foundation
The 5th Future of Cities Forum will be held on September 14th-15th in Beijing where high-level experts from China and around the world gather to discuss regenerative urban development. Dr Vinay Lall from the Society for Development Studies will represent CityNet to speak about the SDG and its relevance to city planning, budgeting and programme management in Asian cities. 
EcoMobility World Festival 2015
The EcoMobility World Festival demonstrates urban mobility without dependency on the private automobile in a real city, by real people, in real time. Taking place in South Africa’s economic capital, the EcoMobility World Festival 2015 in Johannesburg shall demonstrate how an ecomobile business district looks like. Walking, cycling, and using buses and trains – for a cleaner air, healthier lifestyle and livable city.
EcoMobility Dialogues 2015
A series of dialogue sessions is a key part of the EcoMobility World Festival 2015. They will bring together thought leaders, decision makers and implementers of innovative forms of sustainable urban mobility to shape the future of urban mobility. The EcoMobility Dialogues will be hosted by the City of Johannesburg and organized in partnership with ICLEI from 5 - 9 October 2015.   

Building Leaders in Urban Transport Planning (LUTP)
Korea Transport Institute and the World Bank jointly host the 4th LUTP from October 11th-17th to equip urban transport leaders. This workshop aims at developing leadership capabilities in urban mobility planning. It seeks to create awareness of what integrated mobility planning involves, what are its different components and how it needs to be undertaken.  
Future Cities Asia 2015
Worldwide Business Research (WBR) holds Future Cities Asia 2015 from October 20th-22nd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Joint Technical Assessment Visit to Nepal
To respond to the request sent by the Municipal Association of Nepal (MuAN), the City of Yokohama and Seoul Metropolitan government sent a team of experts consisting of structural engineers and professors to assess the situation in Kathmandu after the devastating earthquake in April. 

CBARAD II – July 2015 activities
July was National Disaster Consciousness Month in the Philippines. CBARAD II stakeholders, in addition to their component work, hosted a variety of events with a total of 396 participants.   

Disaster Prevention Education and Awareness Training Workshop in Nepal
In August, CYO facilitated the Disaster Prevention Education and Awareness Project in Nepal in partnership with Plus Arts and the Club Creative of Bangkok. They visited schools and interviewed teachers in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur to assess the conditions of the educational environment after the earthquake.
