As this year’s Executive Committee Meeting and Back-to-Back Seminar that will be held from October 5th-7th are approaching, register yourself to attend the event by filling in the online registration form by July 17th. This year’s Executive Committee will be held in Sidoarjo, Indonesia, that just recently won an award from the Indonesian Government for their efficiency in local government system. CityNet Secretary General's visit to South Korea
CityNet Secretary General Vijay Jagannathan visited South Korea from June 1-3 where he held meetings with the Secretariat staff, representatives from Seoul City, Incheon and Green Climate Fund. The Secretary General was able to share his vision of the Asian Perspectives on Sustainable Urbanisation and to garner support for other CityNet initiatives.   More>>
CityNet Secretariat meets Busan and Incheon representatives
To better understand the area of experts that CityNet member cities want to share through the network, the Secretariat met the representatives from Busan and Incheon. The meeting was aimed at listening to challenges and expectation from members and boosting up Korean cities participation in CityNet programmes.
 
UN-Habitat mission in South Korea
Led by the Director of Programme Division, Dr Alioune Badiane, UN-Habitat’s Safer Cities Programme team and Regional Office for Asia Pacific visited Seoul from June 24-26 to have a further discussion with Seoul Metropolitan Government and CityNet towards the development of a Regional Strategy and Road Map on the development of the regional network on safer cities.

The infographic is available in English, Spanish and now also in Indonesian and Chinese language! New projections for urban mobility in China, India and Latin America released
Transport in the urban centres of emerging economies is becoming a major battleground for combatting climate change. Big cities in China, India and Latin America with over 500.000 inhabitants will more than double their share of world passenger transport emissions by 2050 to 20%.    More>>

Fundraising for Nepal completed
CityNet Yokohama Project Office (CYO) completed the fundraising to support the victims of the Nepal Earthquake and will be sending the amount collected to Nepal National Chapter. The total amount raised was JPY266,075 (Approx. USD2,165). The fundraising was conducted with CityNet Secretariat.    More>>
Study Visit from Iloilo to Yokohama for CBARAD-II
From June 7-14, CYO welcomed the CBARAD II working group from the City of Iloilo to a study visit in Yokohama with a main focus on supporting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) during crisis and flood management practices.    More>>
