Internationally experienced epidemiologist Maureen Perrin says public health can be vastly improved with properly targeted data: "Do people feel connected and can they use the data coming out of systems?" Currently based in the Pacific, she is working with a group in the Kingdom of Tonga to shift their paper systems into digital evidence for decision-making and will share her experiences at HIC.

Dr Ruth Mitchell is a neurosurgery registrar at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne. She was awarded the Australian Medical Association Doctor in Training of the Year (2016) for her work as the chair of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Trainees' Association. Ruth was part of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) that won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017.
