UMBRACO UK FESTIVAL UPDATE

Hello <<First Name>>

So another year and another Umbraco UK Festival has come and gone and I think you'll agree if you were there it was one of the best ever!

Yes we had the usual A/V problems and we may have run out of food, but hey, it wouldn't be a memorable day if everything ran smoothly!

So I thought it would be nice to send some highlights from the day and highlight some of post festival feedback from the community.

Videos and Slide Decks

So the Cogworks office has been turned into a mini editing suite for the past week. We've been splicing tapes and recording voice overs to get YOU the perfect mix from all the talks on the day. Luckily we hadn't put them on Betamax to post out as we'd have had to start all over again. Instead we decided to use that new fangled thing called 'online video hosting'. You can see them all on the festival website and also on YouTube if you're feeling that way inclined!

There were some great talks and it's difficult to single any out but perhaps the one that I found most inspiring and relevant to the Umbraco community was Shannon's 'Umbraco V8 and beyond'. For the non-Umbraco talks I was personally enjoyed Barry Briggs 'Mobile testing on a budget' and Mark Needham's 'Introduction to Graph databases'  which was surprisingly insightful for me! Let us know which were your favourites?

Community Comments

There have been some great blog posts from members of the community providing a great overview of the day, so instead of me waffling on too much, feel free to pop along to those and have a read!

Please let me know if I have missed any!

So, all in all it was a fantastic day, in an amazing venue with some amazing people. if you didn't make it, hopefully you have captured enough of the comunity feeling from the day to come along next year!

We're already looking forward to next years...the planning shall begin!

Thanks

Adam
