Howdy Friends!

I am not sure where I first heard the term “seasons of life”, but it is something I have considered for a very long time. If we look back - and maybe even forward - we often seen how our life is grouped together, like the chapters of a book. At the end of August, I turned the page on a twenty five year Information Technology career (you can read more about it here if you like) and am very excited about “What’s next”. My hope is to give back to aviation, as aviation has given me many of the greatest friends and experiences of my life.

The support I find in this group is truly amazing. I greatly appreciate all of you, and look forward to many more years together on SuperCub.Org.

Amazing Connections
We often talk about how is not just about the planes and the kind of flying we all enjoy but about the people we meet along the way. Recently, Randy Corfman re-connected with a young lady that he met at one of the New Holstein fly outs in a very unique way.  Read all about it here.

Mike Olson
We lost a true friend of aviation, and of SuperCub.Org this last month when Mike Olson passed away. He touched so many people here with his curiosity and generosity. You can read some wonderful tributes to Mike, and watch some video from an interview at Oshkosh a few years back on this thread. May the skies ahead of you always be clear, Mike.

David Jaranson Memorial Fall Colors Fly
Looking for somewhere to go to see the beauty of the fall foliage in the midwest? Why not fly up to Side Lake, MN for the David Jaranson Memorial Fall Colors fly in. Take a flight up the spectacular shoreline of Lake Superior and then back to “Jaranson International” for a great gathering of friends. This event is being held September 23 - 25. Read more about it here and let them know that you are coming. It is worth the trip!

WAD Fly in in October
October 9 -12 is the WAD flyin in Wentworth, New Hampshire.  This event, hosted by John and Jen Meade, is one of our favorites. In addition to the famed New England fall foliage, this event is often a great mix of great friends, fun music (bring whatever you play) and beautiful fly outs. Hope to see you there. You can read more about it here.

Discussion on the movie “Sully”
We talk a lot about airplanes on We also share our favorite aviation books and movies too. Recently there has been a lot of discussion about the new movie, Sully. Share your thoughts here and become part of the conversation.
