PIE Center Associate Director Alexa Lamm will discuss key findings and new results from this year’s public opinion survey on water quality and quantity. Next, UF Water Institute Director Wendy Graham will take a closer look at a few of the topics addressed in the survey and fill some apparent knowledge gaps, including the source and quality of Floridians’ tap water, the quality of Florida’s water bodies and the regulatory programs designed to protect them. Examining the intersection of public perceptions and science can be insightful in guiding the development of community education initiatives.

If you would like to join us for the webinar, you must register in advance. This webinar will be registered for UF Extension IST credit. Extension faculty can register here when the program is approved: http://pdec.ifas.ufl.edu/ist/list.pl

Special report : Feb.10

Stay tuned for the PIE Center’s public opinion survey measures residents’ attitudes and beliefs about water quality and quantity. This year’s installment also gauges Floridians’ awareness of an ongoing lawsuit between Florida and Georgia over water usage rights, as well as Floridians’ willingness to engage in conservation behaviors when faced with increased costs.
