Local Elections Are Just As Important as Congress!
We have a lot of political races on our collective plates, but we shouldn't let the ever-so-critical race for San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors fall onto the floor.
For that reason, we are thrilled state Assemblyman Curt Hagman will be our featured speaker at our Thursday meeting.
Here's why you should care: We could become the next union-dominated LA County if Hagman loses to uber-lib Gloria Negrete-McLeod in the fourth district, which includes the Ontario and Chino Hills area. If we lose, then the public employee unions will have Gloria help them decide union contracts and how services are awarded. A union dominated county government will increase our tax dollars and lower our quality of services. Please turn out to support Curt on Thursday.
Negrete-McLeod was one of the most extreme leftists in Congress. Hagman is a termed-out state assemblyman and conservative who has been leading the San Bernardino County GOP Central Committee for two years. Under his leadership, the county endorsed many conservatives for office, including gubernatorial candidate Tim Donnelly. Curt will discuss the upcoming elections and why we should care.
Our line-up for Thursday also includes a Candidate Forum. We will hear from candidates running for local offices such as school board and city council, as well as state and national offices. We will have a meet and greet hour starting at 6p to give you time to personally get acquainted with candidates.
We will also have Greg’s “ever popular” (those are his words) legislative update including the propositions.
Redlands is being coated in political yard signs! This is Christmas time for political junkies like us, but unfortunately, too many liberal Scrooges are not playing by the rules (shock!). We couldn't help but notice that Pete Aguilar had campaign yard signs planted at Community Park last Saturday. This is a violation of Redlands ordinance 15.36.030, which says political signs cannot be placed on city property. What was surprising at the event is that park is where Aguilar campaigners were leading a canvassing effort as well as a post-walk party. We understand if inexperienced helpers put signs where they shouldn't, but any campaign official shouldn't so willfully flout our laws like the Aguilar campaign staff did last Saturday in Redlands.
So let's be clear: You cannot place campaign signs on city property (that includes the fence). Unlike liberals, we respect laws, even the ones we disagree with. The number to Redlands City Code enforcement is 909-335-4737, ext. 2. Ask for Robert Montaghami.
Speaking of Christmas: We have just locked in comedian Evan Sayet for our Christmas party on Dec. 11! We expect to announce more details at our Thursday meeting. Evan Sayet is a conservative comedian and serious commentator. He spoke at the Unite IE Conservative Conference last May. Here is a clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T3dHkEKE-k For more info on Evan please http://evansayet.com/
The Redlands Tea Party Patriots/Unite IE Christmas Party will launch you into the Christmas season with a conservative chuckle!
On Oct. 14, the movie "Unfair: Exposing the IRS" will show at 700 theaters across the US, including the KrikThe Meaning of the 2014 Elections--for Today and 2016" orian Redlands Cinema 14. It's a one-night showing. John Nobles, leader of the High Desert Fair Tax Tea Party Patriots, is looking for "theater captains." Interested? Please call him ASAP at 760-961-1312. He is a link to a most powerful and most awesome movie trailer:
Patriots! We landed a big "get" for our Oct. 30 meeting! Steve Frank is all-things conservative and Republican going back 50 years in California (he even worked for Reagan and Nixon)! He is the editor and publisher of California Political News. His talk is titled, "The Meaning of the 2014 Elections--for Today and 2016." He is speaking Oct. 30, five days before the Election. This meeting is in lieu of our November meeting, which would have been held the Thursday after the election if we didn't move the date.
Finally, we are happy to announce that we're supporting our first Democrat on the latest edition of our popular voters guide! She is Taline Georgiou, a candidate for the Etiwanda School Board. (Don't worry -- she told us that she didn't vote for Obama either time.) Georgiou has been canvassing aggressively for Paul Chabot in the Fontana area. Georgiou will be at our Thursday meeting as part of our "open mic night" Candidate Forum for those appearing on the November ballot.
Georgiou is a big win for us! It shows that we are appealing to people who are questioning their traditional support for left-leaning parties. This shouldn't surprise us considering Obama is now under 50 percent approval numbers in deep-blue California. We hope to attract even more candidates like Georgiou in 2016.
Nationally, the tea party movement is at least 20 percent non-Republican. We also attract libertarians and independents as well as the rare breed of conservative Democrat -- an endangered species in California for decades.
We are an appealing group! The only qualifications you need to the Tea Party Patriots is support our values of economic freedom, personal freedom, and a debt-free future!
