Redlands Tea Party Patriots

By Popular Demand: Dr. Duke Pesta, The Case Against Common Core, March 25, 7:00 Mill Creek!

Patriots!

In partnership with Faithful Christian Servants, the Redlands Tea Party Patriots are pleased to present:

Dr. Duke Pesta, a great leader and speaker in the Common Core resistance movement.

Here is a five minute video of Dr. Pesta explaining why Common Core represents dumbed down standards, leftist indoctrination, massive data mining on our children and families and even more Federal government control over education.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zl6Batr2IVA&feature=youtu.be

Greg and Carolyn heard Dr. Pesta speak in Corona last fall--and he is excellent!

Dr. Pesta will explain not just why Common Core is insidiously bad for children, teachers and America, but also what “We the People” can do about it.  The most immediate and important thing parents can do is opt their children out of Common Core testing and data mining.  Parents have the legal right to do so.  The forms are available at www.PacificJustice.org

Who should attend?  Parents, grandparents, teachers, students and everyone concerned with the future of our country.

To guaranty admission, please RSVP for free tickets on Eventbrite:

Common Core is a crossover issue.  Even Dems are increasingly opposed.  This is a good opportunity to invite your independent and even Democrat friends, family and coworkers.

We have ssssssoooooo many other things to tell you, but we had to make our Common Core announcement first because, after all, landing Duke Pesta as a speaker is a real "get" for the Redlands Tea Party Patriots! (And we would continue boasting--shamelessly--even more if we didn't have so much other news to cover.)

First: Did you notice that we just went over our 900th Facebook friend? That may not be a big deal in the world of fake BFFs (Best Friends Forever) on Facebook, but to the Redlands Tea Party Patriots, this is a huge deal considering we reject more than half of the people who apply for being spammers, instigators, bots, fakes, advertisers.

OK, so our 900th Facebook friend was Dr. Gina Loudon of the Politichicks! NOT BAD for local tea party group anywhere! We met her during the second annual Unite IE conservative conference in Riverside. She liked what she heard about us and reached out to become our Facebook BFF. Thanks Gina! Heck, at this rate, we should expect Ann Coulter to become our Facebook friend when we--gasp!--earn our 1,000 follower!

We can't get too far into our newsletter without discussing the latest fiasco involving none other than Redlands' own Pete Aguilar! So Pete decided to hold a faux swearing in San Bernardino despite being sworn into Congress in January. Why? We're not sure considering almost nobody showed up! From the video, it appears anti-amnesty protestors outnumbered Pete supporters. So no wonder why Pete, despite having a "safe" congressional district with a 6 percent Democrat voter advantage, is already in the Democrats' "vulnerable" incumbent program! In politics, one has to work really hard to be this bad.

And did you notice “For Pete’s Sake” Aguilar promptly moved out of Redlands (where the former Redlands mayor lost to Paul Chabot) and set up his district office in Rancho Cucamonga.

Thus far, “For Pete’s Sake” Aguilar voted with Nancy Pelosi > 97% of the time.  Is anyone surprised?

Since we're discussing Congress, have you noticed Yucaipa's US House member Paul Cook is on fire? Well...he is! He's taken strong positions opposing amnesty and persevering the Second Amendment.  Here's a cut and paste from Cook staffer Peter Rescigno:

"Despite a new Republican Congress and strong rebuke from voters, President Obama continues to leverage the executive branch to bypass the will of the people. After butchering immigration laws last year, the President is again targeting the Second Amendment. We cannot remain idle.

When Obama’s Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) proposed a ban on M855 5.56x45mm cartridges, I stood with you in saying 'Hands off our Constitution!' As a result, ATF dropped this proposal.

I’ve cosponsored two bills to protect our right to bear arms: First, HR 986, the “Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act,” ensures concealed carry permits issued in one state are valid in any other state. Second, H.R. 1180, the 'Protecting Second Amendment Rights Act,' prevents federal agencies from banning ammunition.

Thank you Congressman Cook for all that you do in fighting for our freedoms and know that you have a steadfast ally in this battle
."

(Now if we could only get Paul Cook to talk at one of our meetings! We can never seem to get our schedules to coincide.)

We have more to pass along about our participation in the Feb. 21 Unite IE conservative conference. As you know, more than 1,000 people attended. Because of the Tea Party Patriots, about 25 people from throughout Southern California want to become leaders of their new Tea Party Patriots groups. We contacted them all, and in the end, we will have about four strong groups in San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties because the Tea Party Patriots made such a strong splash at the convention. Overall, we got six huge boxes of swag. What wasn't passed out was given to leaders of local Tea Party groups. We hope Jenny Beth Martin to will be a keynote speaker at next year's conference on March 19, 2016.

CSG teaches that all power is inherent in the people if they choose to use it and teaches us how to effectively wield our power.

And Don't Forget: The Redlands City Council wants to raise our water taxes by 14%!
Within months of an election, the Redlands City Council wants to raise our water taxes 7% in 2015 and another 7% in 2016. This is a backdoor way to raise taxes on us that escapes voter approval. According to the Redlands Daily Facts, the City Council will discuss the hikes during an upcoming meeting. Here's the reality of the Redlands City Council: they are a leftist cabal that loves raising taxes whenever possible. The only time they hesitate is when the public stands up to their liberal desires -- as was the case last year when they wanted to put another tax increase on the 2014 ballot.
