Evactuation Information
The City has announced a MANDATORY evacuation for CONEY ISLAND by 5pm on Saturday, August 27th.
Important Information:
Beginning immediately, residents in Coney Island and other ZONE A low-lying areas should make plans to evacuate outside of the potential flood zone by 5PM tomorrow, Saturday August 27th. If you have relatives in other areas of the City, please arrange for accommodations on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, City shelters will be open as of 4:00pm TODAY. The closest shelters to Coney Island are:

If you live in Coney Island, please begin making plans immediately to evacuate by 5:00pm tomorrow. This is a MANDATORY EVACUATION. If you have any question or require assistance, call 311 or visit www.nyc.gov.
Public Transportation Updates
In anticipation of harsh weather conditions, the MTA is advising that it will plan to cease all train, bus, and public transportation services at 12:00pm tomorrow, August 27th. At this time, there is no definitive schedule for when the MTA will be back online, but it's safe to assume that there will be no service until Monday, August 29th.
As you plan your evacuation plans, please take note that MTA services may not be available as of 12:00pm tomorrow.
