Dear Drummers and Friends of SIRD

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for the effort and contribution to our ever-growing Society, and since we launched the new Homepage we have begun to gain a lot of new attention.

2020 and the first half of 2021 were extremely challenging but we hope to see each other soon at a Festival, Tattoo, Concert, Workshop or even just socially over some drinks!

For the Portsmouth 2020 organizers it has been quite challenging to postpone the Symposium not once, but twice! They have inspired us with their positive mindset and strong will to do it in 2022, we all hope to see you there in September 2022 where the hosts are anxious to finally run the 3rd International Symposium of SIRD.
The Highlight of 2021 will be the 2nd Digital Event on the 18th September. Main topic will be the Introduction of our new Members and Chapters and the exciting Stickipedia Project where we want to present our Global Rudimental Dictionary  for  drummers all across the world.  This project will launch with stage one: Global Rudiments. The core team is working very hard to build this important lexicon of all known drum rudiments and their variations. This will be presented on the digital event.

I would like to emphasize the important work you do in your local Groups, Schools and Chapters. Your continued input and efforts insures that education, concerts and rehearsals are delivered during these challenging times! and I am convinced that we will continue to “share the Traditions” together globally.

In the meantime, enjoy our SIRDCAST where we introduce famous drummers from around the World.

Hope to drum with you soon!
