The Philippines set to lead growth in Southeast Asia by 2022


 
Southeast Asia* is set to enjoy steady growth in international visitor arrivals from 2018 to 2022 with an average annual growth rate of 5.6 percent, showing collectively well over 168 million arrivals expected by 2022. The Philippines is forecast to top the growth chart in the sub-region with an average increase of 9.1 percent during this same period. Lao PDR, Thailand and Cambodia closely follow, expecting growth of between 8.7 percent and 6.2 percent, well above the sub-regional average. Other destinations in Southeast Asia are predicted to experience encouraging levels of growth, ranging from 3.4 percent to 5.9 percent over the next five years.
