Zimbabwe sets sights on Asia Pacific travellers

 

PATA UPDATES
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority is set to become PATA’s first Government member from the continent of Africa. The two organisations signed a Letter of Agreement during the recent World Tourism Expo in Bulawayo. The ZTA is also participating at PATA Travel Mart in September as part of a strategic campaign to attract more visitors from the Asia Pacific region.

China routes spur growth in airline seat capacity

Scheduled airline seats from Northeast Asia to Southeast Asia are expected to dominate the growth patterns in 2016 with an increase of 12.1 percent year-on-year. Seats to South Asia and West Asia are also expected to see solid year-on-year growth of 4.8 percent and 4.5 percent respectively. Routes from China are expected to drive the growth of these Asia sub-regions in 2016.

Solomon Islands visitor arrivals stay on track
 

Hot on the heels of a strong Q1 performance across all source markets, Solomon Islands visitation has continued in positive mode with figures recorded for April 2016 showing a 2.8 per cent increase.

Official Solomon Islands Government statistics show a total of 1,799 international visitors arrived in April compared to the 1,750 recorded for the same period in 2015.
