Japanese and Chinese arrivals dominate outbound market to Pacific in 2016

A review of the outbound performance from markets in Northeast Asia to the Pacific destinations in 2016 shows that visitor arrivals from Japan and China accounted for over 70 percent of total arrivals. The numbers of Japanese visitors ranged from 39 to 45 percent (quarter by quarter), reaching the strongest year-on-year growth of 44.8 percent in 3Q2016. Although the number of Chinese visitors decreased slightly throughout the period they remained in second place with 29.7 percent year-on-year growth.
