PATA New Tourism Frontiers Forum 2015
November 25-27, 2015
‘Ecotourism - Transcending Climate Change’


Join fellow tourism industry professionals this November in Legazpi, Philippines. This Forum will be tackling the issues, challenges and opportunities of marketing and managing the growth of lesser-known tourist destinations in a practical, responsible and sustainable manner. The dynamic conference programme includes a keynote address on ‘climate change mitigation and the role of tourism’.

Delegates will also experience some of the region’s many tourism success stories during the hosted technical tour and tourism marketing treasure hunt. An interactive marketing session featuring travel guru Lisa Pagotto will analyse the findings from the treasure hunt.

Technology Forum: Sunday 6 September
This forum includes a panel discussion with senior travel industry experts and content from the 
Phocuswright research team that helps to foster smart strategic planning, tactical decision-making and organisational effectiveness. The programme concludes with "Connecting Travel" – a session that examines how global players redefine business models in line with the accelerated pace of communications, marketing and loyalty initiatives.

The PATA CEO Challenge invites submissions from towns, cities, states, provinces and regional tourism boards on how their marketing campaigns are making a real contribution to sustainable tourism growth and giving economic empowerment to the local communities.

Two awards, each valued at US$ 500,000 and sponsored generously by TripAdvisor, will be presented at the PATA Aligned Advocacy Dinner in London on Monday 2 November. A panel of international tourism experts will judge the entries.

Submissions have already been received from regional tourist organisations as well as secondary and tertiary cities (primary cities are excluded from this awards programme).

The winners will enjoy the support of a dedicated team at TripAdvisor for the planning and implementation of the digital marketing campaign.

International Visitor Arrivals to Northeast Asia Continued to Surge in May 2015, Driven by China and Japan
 

Northeast Asia reported a year-on-year 7.0% growth of visitor arrivals in May 2015, translating into a 1.45 million additional arrivals, compared to the same period last year. China and Japan led the pack in terms of extra volume gain, reporting additional arrivals volume of 577,700 and 544,589 respectively. Despite smaller volume bases, Chinese Taipei and Korea (ROK) saw moderate growth of 5.9% and 7.9% respectively.
