PATA Launches the Tourism InSPIRE Awards 2015 to Recognise Sustainability in Tourism

 

PATA is pleased to announce the launch of the Tourism InSPIRE Awards 2015 to recognise organisations and businesses that demonstrate excellence in social, environmental, and economic sustainability in tourism. The deadline to submit applications is October 16, 2015, and there is no entry fee to submit applications.

South Asia: India and Sri Lanka See Strong Surge of Visitor Arrivals in July

For first time in 2015, India reported year-on-year double-digit growth in July of 11.3 percent. Sri Lanka also saw significant growth of 31.2 percent for the same period after seeing a strong surge in arrivals from its top source markets China (+65.5%), India (+28.0%) and the United Kingdom (23.7%). Meanwhile, the Maldives has been experiencing some fluctuation in the numbers of arrivals, reporting moderate growth of 4.3 percent in July.
