Master of Ceremonies Announced for PAS 2015

PATA is honoured to have Dale Lawrence, President, SKAL Thailand, as the Master of Ceremonies at the PATA Annual Summit. Dale Lawrence was elected President of Skal International Thailand in March 2014 and is serving his second term as the elected President of the Skal Club in Bangkok. Most Destinations in Northeast Asia Saw Decent Start of International Visitor Arrivals in 2015


Northeast Asia destinations reported a collective year-on-year increase of 4.0% in international visitor arrivals in January 2015. Japan (+29.1%) topped the growth chart, followed by Chinese Taipei (+12.8%) and Korea (ROK) (+9.3%). China and Hong Kong SAR shared similar growth pace at around +2.8% while Macau SAR faced a minimal drop of 1.5%.

Accor Thailand Appoints New Director of Loyalty and Communications

Accor, the leading hotel operator in Asia Pacific and Thailand, announced the appointment of Valerie Marina Barrios as the Director of Loyalty and Communications for Accor Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines. Valerie will be responsible for Accor’s loyalty programs and campaigns. She will also manage the corporate communications for the region. Read more.


SIVB Bolsters AU/NZ Industry Capability with Key Marketing Appointment

Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau chairman, Wilson Ne’e has confirmed the appointment of Tropics Tourism & Marketing Services as its industry marketing representative Australia/New Zealand. Announcing the news, Mr Ne’e said the company would take immediate responsibility for all aspects of the national tourist office’s travel industry marketing and related trade activity in both key markets.
