Fast forward to 2050
Mark Schwab reflects on PATA’s impressive 65 years of history and also looks ahead to 2050.

“In its 65 year history PATA has played a key role bringing together the various parties needed for the sustainable development of travel and tourism in the Asia Pacific region. Having served on the PATA board for seven years I can vouch for the fact that building a network through this association is an asset to any business in our sector. PATA has proven that taking a holistic approach was the right path forward and has thereby set an example for other regions of the world to follow.”

Looking ahead………

“Space tourism? Despite a number of companies experimenting in this area it seems unlikely that the commercial drive is really there to offer lunar excursions to a wide population safely at an affordable price. So while we undoubtedly have the right brand name, I don’t really see Star Alliance adding the moon and stars to our already expansive destination list any time soon.”
