Get Fresh this Summer!

Summer is a time of entertaining guests in the backyard, and picnics in the park! It is about using fresh vegetables and herbs, often grown right in your own backyard! One of this month's featured recipes is our Chicken Pesto. This is a wonderful aromatic sauce that can be served on chicken on those warm summer nights. Try it the next time you BBQ. It is quick to prepare, and gives a wonderful flavor to the chicken. Cooking with fresh herbs has never been so easy! 

Stuck for a healthy treat idea for your next picnic? Check out our Chocolate Fudge recipe, created by a woman who is passionate about health, but knows that kids can be picky eaters! This is a decadent, rich dessert that only takes minutes to prepare, and would be great to throw in a cooler for a picnic, or to serve on the deck to guests. Keep it cold to serve as fudge or let it soften to use as a delicious spread!

Have you checked out a Farmer's Market yet?! These markets allow you to shop for local, organic, and seasonal foods! What better way to connect to the environment! June means that carrots, asparagus, beets, green peppers, and spinach are in season!
