Welcome to our new-look WISE News, we hope you like it. June has been a great month for the campaign with many activities for London Technology Week and National Women in Engineering Day, including the launch of the WISE Bristol Hub and a feature in The Independent. We announced our search for future stars to join the next WISE Young Women’s Board and it is not too late to apply as the deadline is 11 July.

The WISE Awards & Conference are taking place on
12 November in London and I am excited to announce the latest confirmed speakers joining Vivian Hunt and Kate Russell: Naomi Climer, recently of Sony Media Cloud Services and incoming president of the IET and in conjunction with Rolls-Royce PLC and the Royal Academy of Engineering, Dr Sandra Magnus, NASA astronaut and engineer. Conference tickets are on sale now and are half price when you purchase your Awards ticket at the same time.

Who should attend? Men and women who are the decision makers in their businesses or those that simply want to be inspired by the speakers on the day. If you want to bring about or influence change and are committed to diversity then this conference is a must. Celebrate the contribution women are making to society, business and the UK economy through their STEM skills and reignite your passion for the WISE campaign. See you there!

But too few young people are gaining adequate experience of work while still at school, college or university. The report sets out seven recommendations for the London Ambitions careers offer to transform the landscape of careers and employment support for young people across London, regardless of the particular school or college they attend.
