  The MarineMate app has up-to-date tide info, boat ramp locations, safe boating checklists, and regulatory info about 5 knot zones, towing lanes and swimming areas. Read more
05. MNZ & MetService launch marine weather app »
  The free MetService Marine app has recreational and coastal marine forecasts, tides, severe weather warnings, rain radar and isobar map imagery – plus links to vital boating safety info. Read release
06. Registered beacon an ideal adventuring buddy »
  Beacons take the search out of search and rescue but only 42% of alerts are emergencies. If your beacon is registered, false alerts can be resolved quickly, and in an emergency, a registered beacon can result in a more effective response being launched. Read more
07. Helicopter wreckage found »
  Searchers located the wreckage of a Hughes 500 helicopter with a sole occupant  in the Milford area, in a search coordinated by RCCNZ on 16 December. Read more

After SeaCert goes live in April, MNZ will be processing applications for new certificates based on their expiry date. Read more
