Here’s Steve Moore’s announcement

THIS WEEKEND: THE ANACORTES CRUISE!

Click Here for a great event announcement for you!
Now, more details: Friday evening we will have appetizers and socializing on the dock. Please bring an appetizer to share and the beverage of your choice. Saturday is your day to explore Anacortes or just relax on your boat. (Did you know Cap Sante has bicycles available to use?) Saturday evening we’ll meet at Anthony’s for happy hour and then back to the docks for a taco bar buffet; and Sunday morning you'll wake up to (or shortly thereafter have) Grand Marnier French Toast and Mimosas.
This is a great way to have a fun time!

YOUTH SAILING CLASSES FILLING...GET YOUR REGISTRATIONS IN
The first youth sailing classes started June 25 and we have reached a total of 100 registrations so far. The registrations for the first two weeks have been light, but the third session (July 9-13) is sold out!
There are still lots of spaces available in the later sessions, so tell all your friends and neighbors with children between 8 and 18 to look into the program.
We are especially low in the registrations for the Opti/Laser/FJ racing camps which we hoped would interest more advanced sailors. These classes are scheduled between 1 PM to 5 PM to accommodate youth who are working or don't like to get up early in the morning! --- Arne Ahlen, Jr. Sailing Fleet Captain
BOARD EXTENDS "FREE $5.00 OFFER"!
At last week's Board meeting, your Board extended, until further notice, the ability for you to get $5 dollars credit for every $100 dollars you put toward your credit balance.
Your $100 dollars must be received by our assistant treasurer Mike Welsh in the form of cash or check. When you make a $100 deposit and create a credit balance an additional $5 will be added to your account. You must deposit a full $100 dollars in order to get the $5 dollars additional credit. Paying with cash helps us with our bottom line, keeping our money in our club rather than paying credit card fees. Once you have established a credit balance you no longer need to worry about paying your nightly tab before you leave, it will simply be deducted from your balance. A notice will be sent to you once your account is low, at a zero balance, or you owe money because the credit has been fully used.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to help your club while receiving a benefit at the same time. --- Michele Bodtke, Rear Commodore & Treasurer

WHY NOT BRING IN A NEW MEMBER?
The Board reminds us that an active membership makes a more enjoyable Club.
A strong membership base diversifies interests and broadens social and educational opportunities, benefits for all of us. A larger membership spreads the financial burden of each individual member.
The message here: more members make the Club more interesting, and one that is sustained by more of us. With that said, YOU can help: reach out to those we know and get them involved in our BYC.
Do you know someone you should ask to join the club? Now is the time as summer gets into full swing. Of course, their dues are pro-rated no matter when they join.
Another incentive: The benefit of our social activities. (A reminder: a non-member can be a visitor in the club is limited to six times per year, and visitors many only attend one major function (Commodore's Picnic, Commodore's Ball, etc.) in a year.
So, if you have a friend that likes to come to the club, or enjoys cruising at our events, they need to be a Member! [You can read the details behind the Yearbook’s “Policies” tab, page 2, Paragraph G.]
Please pledge to recruit a new member,
and if you have questions or would like to help with the membership committee, contact me (email@example.com
THANKS! --- Michele Bodtke, Rear Commodore
SAILING FLEET NEWS:
[Hey, Editors: I'm not sure if Jon Knowles or anyone will submit something regarding the Etchells regatta. If they do great! If not, it looks like they got 8 races off 5 on Saturday before being blown off the water by the front that came through, and 3 more races Sunday. Dave Steffan
ended up in 1st place with Tom Malone's Salsipuedes
and Blaine Pedlow
tied for second. ]
This weekend, Saturday, we'll be joining up with the Corinthian Yacht Club for the Jack and Jill Race. 9am Skippers meeting at gate 3.
The WOW Regatta is coming up quickly too! --- Bart Maupin, Sail Fleet Captain
