INVITATION TO JOIN 2014 PACRIM ACTIVITIES!
As members of the Bellingham Yacht Club, you are already aware of PacRim 2014, to be held from the 6th-13th of September here in Bellingham.  There is a full and complete week of exciting sailboat racing, ambassador events and ceremonies that the PacRim 2014 Planning Committee have been working on for two years and we would like to ensure that each and everyone of you know that you are invited to participate in the planned events as described below.
The entire schedule can be viewed by visiting the PacRim 2014 Website and clicking on the PacRim 2014 Information Tab.  BYC events are here. You are welcome to join us for all the events by signing up at the PacRim 2014 Registration Page and there are several events that you can attend at no cost.  These include the Wednesday Night Potluck (as a potluck, feel free to bring your favorite dish for 6-8 people), Viewing The Race From The Spectator Boat, and joining the racers and visiting ambassadors at the BYC At The End Of Each Day (from 4:30’ish on.)  You are also cordially invited to attend other events such as the opening and closing, and daily ambassador tours although there is an “at cost” fee.
If you cannot attend but would like to follow each day's activities, you can sign up for our daily blog posts by visiting the PacRim 2014 Website and signing up to follow our posts in the upper right corner and you will receive an email each time we post.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us and to those who are providing housing for our guests, thank you, and thanks to everyone for helping making PacRim 2014 a success!

FRED MEYER DONATES TO SAILING KIDS IF WE LET THEM! Jack Levine has signed up the Sailing Foundation as a recipient of charity dollars from a new Fred Meyer program, and your fuel and goods purchases will earn them. Click here to get the details. Thanks to Fred & Jack!
HARBOR FUEL HOURS BACK TO FALL SCHEDULE. Now 8AM-6PM seven days a week.
ONLY A RUSSIAN OLIGARCH could own a boat like A, the 397-footer in the Bay over the weekend (they were having dinner at the Willows on Lummi Island). The strange shape is so raiders' grappling hooks will slide off. You can read about Andrey, the owner and his wife here. Jim Gibson took a photo; (hopefully BYC-er Jim, who denies owning grappling hooks, is safe from retribution.) --- Joe Coons
