RACING FLEET NEWS:

Happy New Year to all of  you.  Racing season is fast approaching.  We will be having a meeting Wednesday January 16th at 6pm at the Club to discuss the sailing program for 2013.  Anyone interested in racing, crewing, or participating in the race committee is encouraged to attend. Thanks!  ---  Bart Maupin
Annual General Meeting of the Pacific Handicap Racing Fleet – Northwest, on Sunday, January 13. Director Dave Steffen and Handicapper Neil Bennett will host the nearly-40 sailing officials, as well as interested boat owners and racers from as far away as Portland, Oregon and Nanaimo, BC. The meeting addresses policy issues governing PHRF-NW by the Directors in the lounges while the Handicappers deal with boat rating concerns in the Ward Room.  BYC members Missy Steffen and Michele Bennett are providing a lunch for the officials.  Our Club's participation in this is another way we set ourselves apart from other, smaller regional clubs!

FROM OUR COMMODORE

Happy New Year to all of  you. This past week was full of fun at the Club!  There was Friday@5 hosted by Arne & Anna Ahlen and more; then on Sunday the Sea Hawks came through for us and we had a big turn out.  Tonight (see above) please help as we un-decorate...
Looking ahead, there is the Boat Show and the Superbowl;  We have less than 20 seats lefts on the Bus, so if you are thinking about going please sign up and pay at the bar before the seats are gone. On Jan 16th I will open up the rest of the seats on the bus to other Boating clubs in our area, so be sure to sign up soon!
Our Committee roster will be published on the website soon.  I have been busy adding the names of our new members.  We'll announce it in the Jib Sheet when it's posted, and link to it so you can check it to be sure you are on committees that you would like or catch any errors.
I would like to schedule a meeting for anyone who wants to help with the Bus to the Boat show!  Tuesday Jan 15, 2013 at 5 PM.  Come on down , lets make this a Boat Show bus to remember!
    A reminder: BYC Executive Board Meets Monday, January 15, 2013 @ 6:00.
Once again, thank you to everyone for your volunteer efforts to make our club a special place!  Hats off to all of our members,
Fair Winds and Smooth Seas --- Jody King Erickson
