Monday Night Football EVERY WEEK!
Wine and draft beer and well drinks (Mt. Gay and Crown Royal are among the upscale well brands at our Club) are only $2.50 on Monday nights! And...the Etchells Fleet will be grilling cheeseburgers and Polish Sausage every Monday Night too! Proceeds from the Fleet's modest food prices go towards the High School Sailing Team.
Bring your snacks and appetizers to make it more fun...and cheer on your favorites. Start time is the same as the game in your newspaper or TV schedule each week!
Cribbage every Thursday nightheaded up by John Gargett and John Van Haalen. Don't know how to play? This is a great opportunity to learn!
The clock has struck midnight and my Cinderella evening has come to a close. But WOW what an evening it was! The 86th Annual Commodore’s Ball was a wonderful success. Thanks so much to all the hard working volunteers that donated their time and talents to create such a beautiful and FUN evening! To the decorating duo of Missy and Jane – you never cease to amaze me. To the crowd of volunteers that chimed in to wire trees, string lights, count napkins, and Heaven knows what else – thank you! To the great folks at Windows on the Bay that created a beautiful, delicious dinner on a fast-food budget – thank you! To YOU, the membership, for turning out in record numbers – thank you! It truly made me smile to see so many of you – dressed to the “Ritz” and dancing your tails off. Old members – new members – it was fantastic. From the bottom of my heart – I thank you.
I’ve turned in all the disposable cameras and will be asking Sally Poorman to be posting the photos as soon as I receive them. If you have photos you’d like to share, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
At your service,
The Holidays are fast approaching, schedules are full, so make sure you put the following events on your reminder calendar!!
Sail Fleet awards dinner is this weekend, November 20 at 6:00. Pasta dinner with salad and garlic bread will be provided for a donation of $3.00. All boats are requested to bring a dessert to share. After dinner all awards for the 2010 sailing season will be presented.
Tom & Jerry Party is November 24 at 6:00 PM. Open to current members only. Your Board will be serving the membership along with Sam's assistance. Tom & Jerry's will be provided along with light appetizers. Come share some holiday cheer with your fellow members!!
The Lighted Boat Parade is only a few short weeks away! There will be two nights of parading this year, December 3 & 4. Boats away at 6:00 PM Friday and 5:30 PM Saturday. The parade on Saturday will be followed by a soup feed at the club. Awards will be given for best decorations - including novice class. So if you've never decorated your boat, now is the time to get your shine on - and don't forget the generator (as some of us did the first time we tried it - you will need it!!!). You must parade your boat BOTH days in order to be eligible for an award. We need volunteers to help with registration - which will begin at 3:30 both days. If you are interested in helping please send me an email at email@example.com. If you want to make a soup for Saturday contact Jane Sylvester at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have any burning ideas for a fun event or cruise I would love to hear about it!! Send me an email!

High School Sailing Team plans to travel to California in January for the Rose Bowl Regatta
The Whatcom Community High School Sailing Team plans to travel to Southern California for the 26th annual Rose Bowl Regatta over the weekend of January 8th & 9th , 2011. The Rose Bowl Regatta is the largest combined High School and Collegiate Sailing Competition in the world with up to 60 High School Teams from all over West Coast and up to 30 College Teams from all around the USA. Several of the high schools will have multiple teams in Varsity, JV I and JV II categories. That means more than 300 sailors rotating in over 80 two-person CFJ dinghies. Each team's A and B boats will compete on separate courses on the inside bays in series of races starting at 11 a.m. each day, conditions permitting. Saturday night features the original College Sailing Night where ICSA member schools and leaders get to pitch their programs and conferences to the deep, broad and consistent talent of the California High Schools and their parents. Alamitos Bay Yacht Club, the US Sailing Center (www.ussclb.org) and the beaches and pier of Long Beach provide some awesome spectating and social interaction amongst the large crowds of people there to sail and support their teams.
WCHS Coaches Scott Wilson and Mallory Abston are currently putting out the call to the 28 member of the High School Team and will be selecting 6 sailors that will represent Bellingham at this national spotlight event.

A New Feature Is Being Added to the BYC Roster!
Roster editor Joe Coons advises us that photos are being added to the roster both for Members and for their Boats! Here's what you need to do to get your pictures in the Roster which will be published in January: Before December 15, send a digital image of you (and your partner, if you have one) to email@example.com. The single image should include both persons if applicable, and be sure the image file name includes the Member's last name!
If you have a boat, you may send another image of it, again being sure that the file name includes the member's name! Joe reserves the right to crop images if necessary and they will be converted by him to black and white. He will acknowledge all images received.
We cannot guarantee all images will be published, but he says he will do his best, remembering this is the first year for this effort!

Members' Dues: There has been an accounting error resulting in a few members, mainly Seniors, who may not have been invoiced for the current 2010 - 2011 membership dues. We apologize for this, and would ask members who have not received their dues invoice to email Dick Grimshaw at email@example.com with a request for an invoice. Thank you.
