91st Annual Commodore's Ball

It was Bond-mania at the 91st Annual Commodore's Ball on Saturday night.  I didn't do an official head-count, but I'm guessing close to 100 members gathered for a very fun, festive, and memorable evening.  Thanks to Commodore Mick, his lovely wife, Laura, and a host of volunteers, for all the hard work that went in to creating such a fun theme.  Windows on the Bay did a great job catering the dinner and who could resist those amazing desserts from Pure Bliss?

A special invitation from the folks at Rebound..

Dear BYC Members,

On behalf of Rebound, last years recipients of the BYC Sink the Dinghy, we would like to again thank you for that, and for giving our Executive Director Tyler Michel, the opportunity to address the club on November 6th to introduce Jessica Crump, who is the beneficiary of the Sink the Dinghy funds.

We also wanted to extend a special invitation to Bellingham Yacht Club members to attend our annual Rebound "Songs of Hope" event on Friday evening, December 4th. This event is a year-end celebration of the lives Rebound has touched, and a "thank you" to all of our generous supporters that make the work we do possible.  We would be pleased to have Club members come celebrate with us!

To make reservations, go to our website at  We have tables of 6, and tables of 8 still available.

Again, thank you for all the BYC does to help those in need. And we hope to see you December 4th!

Yvonne Cartwright, Development Director

Rebound of Whatcom County

Another year has almost gone by and Thanksgiving will be upon us shortly. This is always a time for getting together with families and friends and enjoy meals and company with one another. Those tasteful recipes in the BYC cookbook will inspire all to share the bounties from land and sea. Why not pick up a copy of The Gourmet Galley for ideas. It also makes a great gift.

Put your decorating hats on, it's a Charlie Brown Lighted Boat Parade and it's coming to a yacht club near you real soon! The festivities begin at 5:30 on Saturday, December 5 as we head for the Ferry Terminal and cruise along the waterfront. We'll finish with home-made soups back at the club for some Holiday Cheer.

Details are on the

Let's make 2015 the best parade ever.
