Last week was a relatively quiet one at your club, reflecting the ebb and flow of summer. This week the pace picks up considerably as we prepare for the annual Buccaneer’s Cruise to far off Inati Bay! Arrr! So break out those pirate duds and get into the spirit of things! There’ll be activities for the kiddies and grown-ups alike, so come on over and take part in the festivities!

Here’s the skinny for this week!

TUE: Bar and lounge open at 5!

WED: Burgers hot off the grill!

THUR: Monica’s Mexican, with the best carne asada north of the border and those tasty bean burritos!

FRI: Fri @ 5! Come on down and share those tasty appetizers and sides! (Or head on over to Inati!)

See you in the lounge!

ARRRRR!  Aye matey!  It's time once again to put on yer favorite pirate gear, practice yer swagger, and gather yer mateys (big and small) to rendezvous with the Black Pearl herself (okay, so maybe her official name is Comfortably Numb) for a weekend of family fun on the shores of Inati Bay.  The plundering and pirate games begin on Friday night and continue on through Sunday morning.  A full flyer of info can be found by clicking here!

Friday night is the double feature on the beach!! Bring your camp chairs and drinks and hangout for Goonies and whatever the crowd wants for the 2nd film-

Saturday-Plenty of food and 2 kegs of beer on the beach! Treasure hunts for all ages, and bring your favorite pirate attire and if we have enough folks we'll do costume competitions! There will be music to some extent as we are still working on details- anyone have a karaoke machine? Volunteers will be needed to help transport things to and from and things are needed along the way- There will be a shuttle boat leaving from the dock in front of the club piloted by Mr. Randy Nulle- if you wish to hitch a free ride over to Inati or back with Randy, he'd like you to drop him a line directly and coordinate with him so he knows- he typically leaves around mid morning and does a couple trips-

Also please bring a side dish for Saturday and be willing to help out! There are plenty of places to camp, and boats to get rides on.  If you're panning on attending please either let Rick Laursen know or register on the BYC website so we have a good idea on how much food to buy!

Sucia Island Family Luau Cruise
Please join us August 19-21 for our annual Family Luau cruise to beautiful Sucia Island.  Show your Aloha spirit and wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt or outfit and we'll bring the leis!  We have reserved the group shelter located between Shallow and Echo Bay. It all kicks off Friday night with smores around the campfire.  Then on Saturday, we'll have a Hawaiian Luau with tons of great food and games with prizes.  This is a great event and fun for the whole family.  For more info. and to sign up go to  If you can help with this event, please email Vickie Olson at

Our members are out cruising!  Are you???

The PITCH posters have arrived!

One of the reasons that our sponsors are so interested in helping us with PITCH is that we spread these posters all over Puget Sound every year.

Our goal is to have a poster in every yacht club and ship chandlery from Vancouver, BC to Vancouver, WA and we could use your help in getting them posted.

All that is needed is to walk into a West Marine (or any other location where sailors frequent) and ask the manager if they will put up our poster. They always say yes.

There is a stack of these PITCH posters above the name tag drawers at BYC.

Feel free to grab a few if you can help and let me know where they are if you get any of them posted.

Thanks again for your help!

Last week Bellhaven had out of town charterers visit BYC after returning from their charter.  They remarked to me that their home yacht club, which has a reciprocal agreement with BYC, could learn a lot from our friendly membership.  First, before their trip they reached out to several clubs and BYC was the only one to respond.  Second, on Thursday night (7/21) they visited the club and were welcomed by numerous members and made to feel at home.

I'm sure they will return to charter again, not just to see the beautiful San Juans, but also meet up with their new friends at BYC!

1979 32' Islander sailboat we need to part with as we do not have time to sail her. She has been with us for 19 years and lovingly cared for. She has under 500 hours on her new Yanmar 30 hp engine. Spotlight Gal is a classic sailboat with beautiful lines. We get lots of compliments on her.

We are asking $42,000. Please give us a call at 707-245-7490
