I took 3 days off work last week to do projects around the house … my first attempt at “Spring Cleaning”! However, my efforts were futile.   With an enormous “honey do” list combined with a serious case of “Housework A.D.D”, I couldn’t figure out where to start.   So, I did what most sailors do… I worked on my boat instead.   It was a good thing since I severely underestimated the amount of fall foliage my neighborly tree had offered up to my Etchells.  It took over two hours to clean up the compost pile of leaves in my bilge and I finished just in time to get launched for Wednesday Racing.
It was a nice turn out on Wednesday Racing.  The new Bellingham 505 one-design showed up with a fleet of 6 for their first race.    Thanks to Paul Pihl and Mike Poulos for getting the 505 fleet off the ground.   The 505’s are temporarily home-based out of Fairhaven until a better storage/launching solution can be figured out in the Harbor.   Etchells started out with 5 boats, and should build to 8 or 9.   If you are interested in joining the BYC Club Racing program, contact Sail Fleet Captain Bart Maupin at

Cheers, Jonathan
Last week's photo was taken on the SE shore of Cozumel Is., Quintana Roo, Mexico. Terry Tavelli correctly identified the location, Jack Black named a similar view elsewhere in the country.

This week we have a rather interesting view of a bunch of tourists standing in shallow water. If you know where they are, and why they are there, send your answer to

Seaview’s state-of-the-art facilities offer recreational boaters, commercial fisherman, and the yachting community cost-effective, efficient and environmentally sustainable boat repair and maintenance services.
