Movie In Maplewood Park TONIGHT!
Rain forced the cancellation of last week's showing of Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa at Maplewood Park -- but it has been rescheduled for tonight, June 28th, at dusk. Grab the kids and some popcorn and head on over to Maplewood Park around 8:30. This feature movie presentation is part of the Chicago Parks District's "Movies In the Park" series. Help spread the word!

West Bucktown Kickball Tournament 
The first annual West Bucktown Kickball Tournament officially kicks off Wednesday, June 30th at 6:30 pm at the Maplewood Park softball field. First up? The residents of Cortland versus Rockwell!  Games will run for seven consecutive Wednesday evenings and are open to all West Bucktowners free of charge. Teams of 10 neighbors are needed to round out the tournament brackets, but free agents, spectators and cheerleaders are welcome, as well! Stop by and meet your neighbors, rock out to some 80s music, and get reaquainted with your inner third grader. For more information, email Sarah Maxwell at

Zoning Committee Applications
Now Being Accepted

Do you want to become more involved in the community? Are you interested in shaping neighborhood development.? The WBNA Zoning Committee is looking for new members! The Committee typically meets once a month to discuss zoning change proposals and related issues within the WBNA jurisdiction. This is your chance to get an inside look at proposed developments before they happen, and to work with developers to create balanced and appropriate construction throughout West Bucktown. Email today for an application. All applications must be received by July 5 to be considered.

Reserve Your Yard Sale Table Today
Show your support for the Maplewood Lucy Flower Parks Advisory Council (MLFPAC) and clear out your garage at the same time!  The annual West Bucktown Yard Sale and Picnic will be held at Maplewood Park on Saturday, July 31st from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The yard sale is open to West Bucktown residents and non-residents alike and will be publicized throughout the city. For a small $25 fee (which directly benefits MLFPAC and the many park programs it supports) you get an assigned 10 ft. x 10 ft. area within the park to sell your stuff. This is a rain-or-shine event, and sellers are required to bring their own tables, chairs, supplies, etc. To reserve your spot today, send an email to Cash payment is due the morning of the sale.

If you're like many of us, you rarely see your neighbors because you enter and exit your home through the garage in back. That's why we're encouraging all West Bucktowners to take to their front stoops on Monday evenings this summer. Grab a cold drink, park yourself on the steps, and wave hello to the neighbors you never even knew you had!
