ON SALE NOW: West Bucktown Parks Desk Calendars!
The Challenge Is On!
As we previously reported, West Bucktown's own Lucy Flower Park is scheduled for a makeover in 2013. While the bulk of funding is slated to come from the generous support of the Chicago Park District and 1st Ward Alderman Joe Moreno, the West Bucktown community is responsible for raising $70,000 of the total project cost.
The good news is that the Maplewood and Lucy Flower Park Advisory Council (MLFPAC) already has almost $50,000 in its coffers! I f we can raise the remaining $20,000 before the summer, The Park District tells us they will be able to break ground this year. The challenge is on, West Bucktown!
Please help us cover the shortfall by making your tax-deductible donation today, or by contributing to one of the fundraising initiatives outlined below. You can donate online using your credit card or PayPal account, or mail your check (made payable to "Friends of the Park/Lucy Flower") to: MLFPAC, c/o Darcie Trier, 1647 N. Maplewood Ave., Chicago, IL 60647.
Everyone who contributes $50 or more will be automatically included in the Lucy Flower "Seeds of Change" donor recognition program. And don't forget to check if your employer offers a Charitable Giving Matching program -- that can double the impact of your own contribution!
