Dog Park Meeting Feb. 21

IMAGE: Dog In Swing
Another neighborhood meeting to discuss bringing a dog-friendly area to the West Bucktown community is scheduled for this Thursday, February 21 at 7:30 pm. Elizabeth and Dan Lewis will be hosting at their home - their address will be provided when you RSVP to Naomi Goldberg at

This meeting will continue the discussion about potential locations for a dog park in and around West Bucktown, with additional information since the January meeting provided by the Chicago Park District and the 1st Ward Alderman's Office. Identifying a location is a crucial first step in the overall process for establishing a dog-friendly area, which will ultimately require engaging the community and various fundraising initiatives.

Come and let your voice be heard! And please help spread the word as you see other dog owners walking their pooches throughout West Bucktown!

Easter Egg Hunt in the Works

IMAGE: WBNA Egg HuntEaster falls reeeeally early this year (on Sunday, March 31), so the annual WBNA Easter Egg Hunt at Maplewood Park will also be held earlier than usual.  We're looking at Saturday, March 23 as our potential date, but need to check what other Easter-related activities might be going on in and around the area.  We want to make sure as many West Bucktown youngsters can participate this year as possible!  So stay tuned....we'll post the official date and time on our FaceBook page and website just as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please consider donating a bag or two of individually wrapped candies for the hunt -- Starbursts, Hershey's Kisses, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, etc. We are also in need of small prizes to hand out to the children, such as jump ropes, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, frisbees, coloring books, art projects, etc.  (The Dollar Store and Oriental Trading Company are great resources for these kinds of things!) If you can help us out, please email and we'll make arrangements to get your donation from you.

Thanks in advance for helping to make this year's egg hunt our best ever!
