MSI appoints new Area Representative
MSI is pleased to announce that it has appointed a new MSI Area Representative for the EMEA region. Philippe Schmidt, managing partner at Schmidt Brunet Litzler, MSI’s Paris based law firm member, has been selected to represent the region joining the already existing Area Representatives Jarkko Ruohola (Lukander Ruohola) and Eugene Titkov (United Consultants).
Tim Wilson, MSI's CEO said, “I am delighted that Philippe has agreed to become an Area Representative for MSI. Philippe has been involved with MSI for many years, he is well known to many and is a great contributor to MSI. I know he will really add value as an EMEA Area Representative with special responsibility for Western Europe”.
MSI Month 2016
As part of our on-going efforts to raise the profile of MSI and following the initiative’s success in 2014, we will be running MSI Month again this year. Throughout September, which is MSI Month, member firms around the world will showcase their international capabilities and get involved in a variety of activities that promote the benefits of MSI membership internally and externally. We encourage all member firms to get involved.
MSI Month will be launched officially in the next few weeks when you will receive more details about this initiative, but for now please mark September 2016 in your diaries as MSI Month.
MSI Conferences & Meetings
Record attendance at MSI's EMEA Regional Meeting in Prague This year’s MSI EMEA conference was held in Prague, Czech Republic from 13 - 15 May 2016. The meeting was attended by a record number of 96 delegates from 41 member firms. Delegates enjoyed a variety of conference sessions and social events which provided members with ample opportunity to network and meet with new and old colleagues.
The conference included presentations by Malcolm Norman on cyber threats and security; Declan Curry who presented on the financial and political changes in the EMEA region and Alan Hodgart who gave a thought provoking presentation on the challenges and opportunities for professional services firms and alliances.

MSI would like to thank our local members and hosts, 22 HLAV and MSB Legal, for the warm welcome to Prague.
Americas Regional Meeting - Baltimore 10 - 12 June 2016
MSI and our local members, Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler LLC and KBST& M are looking forward to welcoming all attendees in Baltimore next week. More than 60 delegates from 37 member firms have registered to attend the meeting.
MSI members meet at International Trademark Association (INTA) Annual Meeting 17 IP specialists from 9 MSI member firms got together on Tuesday, 24 May for a breakfast meeting during the recent INTA Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida which took place from 21 - 25 May. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for members to get together and to network in an informal setting. Another MSI breakfast meeting will be held at next year's INTA meeting in Barcelona, Spain. Register your interest
