Though I am tempted to give in to discouragement, I won't...

Dear *|MMERGE6|*,

I’m dumbfounded, and at a complete loss for what to do!

Two weeks ago we launched our critical summer fundraising campaign with an incredible opportunity to receive an additional $50,000 gift, if 5,000 of our supporters donated ANY amount by July 3!

These are funds that we desperately need. But with only 2 days to go, we still have an overwhelming 2,700+ donations to raise!

To be honest, I just can’t believe it.

Nearly 2 million people have visited our site since we launched the campaign. Two million!

Of those two million, we need just a fraction of 1% to step up and decide that professional, life-affirming, and uncompromising pro-life and pro-family news reporting is worth something...even if it’s just $5.

And yet, to my surprise, this simply isn’t happening.

But though I’m tempted to give in to discouragement, I won’t do that. Instead, I know that there is only ONE THING left to do.

What’s that? TRUST.

  • Firstly, trust Divine Providence. Whatever the result of this campaign, whether we make our goal or we don’t, we know that this is precisely what God has determined that we need to do our work. And I truly mean that. Total abandonment to Providence isn’t easy, especially at difficult times like this, but it has always been a core guiding principle at LifeSiteNews.

  • Secondly, trust in our readers. The fact is, you courageous folks have always come through in the past, often going way above and beyond to provide us with the financial support that is essential to continue this life-and-family news reporting.

At the same time, there’s no point beating around the bush. While this campaign started out with a promising bang, we have dramatically lost momentum in the past few days.

Maybe it’s because our U.S. and Canadian readers are off on holidays for Independence Day and Canada day. Maybe it’s because you’re still getting accustomed to our new website, email, and logo. (Keep in mind the site is still a work in progress.)

Or maybe it’s simply because we haven’t yet effectively communicated the urgency of our need.

But whatever the reason, something has to change.

And so I feel like I have to be totally blunt: If more of our readers don’t step up to make a donation today, LifeSiteNews will be forced to make some hard decisions in the coming months.

While we need the 5,000 donations to qualify for that $50,000 matching gift, we also need to raise a bare minimum of $150,000 in donations during this campaign. However, right now, we’re still a discouraging $65,000 away from that goal!

We aren’t kidding when we say that LifeSiteNews literally depends upon the success of this campaign to keep going.

And so now, with only 2 days remaining, I need you to drop everything you are doing and make a donation right now.

I hope you don’t think our goal is unattainable. Far from it!

It’s true, we have never been this far from our goal so late in the game. But with over 100,000 people coming to our site each day, all it will take is for you to make the decision today to help keep us operating.

We place the success of this campaign in God’s hands, and in your hands.

For life and family,

Steve Jalsevac
