Are You Loaded?
Our church just completed a four week sermon series on money.  Wow what a great series.  The series was titled "Loaded - a richer perspective on money". Check out our blog to see if you are loaded.
Do You Want to Serve in Guatemala This Summer?
Several people asked us if they could go on a short term missions trip with Impact Ministries, but did not have enough people to form a team.  We have good news! We are forming two "open" teams, where people from across the country will come together to serve. The dates for these teams are June 23rd to July 3rd, and July 26th to August 5th. If you would like more information about these trips contact us or go to Impact Ministries short term team page.

Tim & Candy's Next Steps
We finished another exciting year with Impact Ministries. After slaying the accounting dragon, we ended the year with just over $48,000 in donations, two short term teams, and 25 children sponsored. Praise God!

We anticipate being in Guatemala between five and eight weeks this year, needing to take between 10% and 15% of time of without pay from MIT. In addition, we will travel to several conferences to promote the ministry, and Tim will travel to Canada for joint board meetings. So what does all this mean? For 2013, we will be raising more consistent faith support to help cover travel and ministry promotional event expenses, as well as a small stipend to cover costs while we are away from our jobs.

Right now our goal is to transition to full-time ministry sometime in the spring or summer of 2014. Keep an eye out for more details in March/April. We are grateful for those who have taken this journey with us so far, and look forward to growing our base of prayer and financial support as we transition to full-time ministry. Please pray for us as we continue to seek God's guidance.

 Candy's Update - Urbana
Approximately 16,000 people, myself included, entered the half lit dome to find large circles of lights hung like gigantic halos  from the ceiling. An indoor football field transformed into a place of holy worship of the one true God, not of sport. The worship team gathered and the crowd, many of whom had never participated in Urbana before, rose to their feet in hushed amazement and then in jubilant worship to God.  As the 5 day mission conference progressed, we heard that “God sent his Son Jesus to us to preach the good news, to heal the broken hearted.” Some came to know the Lord for the first time, others rededicated their lives to Christ. In captivated silence, we receive the ultimate question, “What plan or dream will you give your life for that is more significant than proclaiming the kingdom of God to the ends of the earth?” Sixteen thousand entered into the house of God and came out forever changed. I entered a five time veteran of Urbana with expectations of refreshing and restoration, and came out forever changed in unexpected ways.

Want to know more about Urbana? Go to our blog at to see a video from the conference. Also, you can go to to find more videos.

Tim's Update - Health update
I am starting to feel my age!  :)

Last fall I tweaked my back a bit. I tried to nurse it back to health on my own to no avail. Then massage therapy helped a bit, but still no permanent relief. Now after a month of physical therapy, I am seeing progress as other muscle groups are being strengthened, which helps support my back. Pray for continued progress.

By the time you get this update, I will be close to having bunion surgery on my left foot. The doctors have been talking for two years about the fact that I would need to get it done at some point, so while I have good insurance and time I am getting it done. On February 15th, I will have the surgery followed by seven weeks in a cast, and ten weeks on crutches. I should be back up to full speed sometime in May, just in time for summer!

Prayer Partners Needed
As we continue on life's journey we are still looking for at least 14 more people to commit to pray for us on a regular basis. If you would like to receive more frequent (about monthly) short updates with prayer and praise items as they arise, please click here to be added to our prayer partner list.
