Back in Guatemala

I (Tim) arrived back in Guatemala yesterday (Thursday) around lunchtime.  I arrived in Tactic in the evening and connected with two teams.  One was a dental team that was at the end of their trip and just getting ready to leave today.  The other was a church team from British Columbia.  It was great to be able to connect with them and hear how their experiences in Guatemala were going.

Today has been a combination of meetings and celebrations. Hector Beb's birthday was today (he turned 30).  He has been a principal at the Chicoy school for a number of years, and is now the administrator and co-pastor of the Rio de Vida church (see photo below where Hector is leading a time of prayer and worship).  Hector and his wife Erica (who is the headmaster over the school district) are part of Ministerios Impacto's board.  I went to lunch with the board to hear an update on the various parts of the ministry where they each are involved and provided an update from the US office and our plans to work full time with the ministry in April.
Over the next few days I hope to be able to take some video and photos to help further promote Impact Ministries.  Les and I also need to make some preparations for the upcoming International Council meeting and some strategic planning that we want to go through with the representatives on the council from the Guatemalan, American, and Canadian boards.  You can be praying for those preparations.

The medical and dental team arrives on September 4th.  Pray for safe travels and that the clinic time will be successful.  The dentist was here last summer, and recruited a doctor friend to join him this year!  Praise God.
Prayer Requests & Praises:
1. Praise!  Candy's mom will be discharged from the rehab center on Saturday Aug 31st.  She will be moving in with David, Candy's oldest brother.  Pray that transition would go well and Candy's mom settles into her new home.

2. Pray for Tim's time in Guatemala that he will get everything accomplished that he needs to and that the medical/dental team would be able to serve many patients.

3. Pray for our fall schedule as it is filling up quickly.  Pray that we will be able to keep up with all the various responsibilities and still have time to meet with friends and family who would like to discuss partnering with us.

God bless,
