Weaver's Wanderings
August 2011,

Dear <<First Name>>,
Our summer has been very busy, but the weather has been nice so far!  Sorry to those of you in Washington, where it has been cold and rainy, and others who are melting in the heat!  Life will go into fast forward as we enter the fall.  Check out things below to get the whole picture.

Prayer Partners Needed

Gratitude for your Partnership
Philippians 1:3-6 - I thank my God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Paul's words above really sum up how we feel.  We are humbled and blessed by how many of you have come together to support our trip to Guatemala and Impact Ministries USA!  God is so good and has designed us to work together with him to bring his kingdom rule and reign here to earth.  The other day I was on Skype with Les Peters (field director of Impact Ministries Canada) and we were closing our conversation in prayer.  As I closed in prayer I thanked God for giving us this work to do.  I was struck how God does not need us to do anything.  He could do it all by himself, but he allows us to partner with him.

As we continue to move forward we realize that the dream and vision of Impact Ministries USA is way bigger than us and requires the partnership of God and all of you!  I heard a quote recently, that said "if your vision doesn't scare you, then both your vision and your God are too small" - Brother Andrew.  Starting this ministry with the economy still shaky and a vision and future that we can't handle on our own is a scary proposition.  However, we know that God has called us to this and believe that he will bring others to join us as we move forward.  Thank you for those who have taken those first steps with us in praying and financially supporting us and the ministry!  If you didn't get our letter in the mail in early July explaining how we arrived at starting Impact Ministries USA or misplaced it you can see and read the letter here.  Read on for updates on our progress and how you can partner with us.

Guatemala Here We Come!
Our trip to Guatemala is coming up fast!  We will be in Guatemala from September 11th to 22nd.  Our fundraising for the trip is going well and we have reached the goal for our trip!  Praise God!  We would love it if more people would volunteer to pray for us during our trip, which you can do by emailing us.  We are also looking for people to join our prayer partner team.  See more details below.  Finally, we are taking down some basic supplies (2 large suitcases).  If you are local (here in MA) and would like to donate some supplies you can find an updated list here

Impact Ministries USA - Update
We are working with a firm, T S Wrobel, who has reviewed our application and helped refine it before submitting it to the IRS to speed up the approval process.  We submitted the application on August 18th.  Praise the Lord!  It typically takes the IRS 3 to 6 months to grant the final approval.

We are also working on getting the other office processes (financial, accounting, child sposorship, etc.) in place, which will help as we continue to promote Impact Ministries USA.

We are also grateful to those who have supported Impact Ministries USA's startup costs.  So far we have raised approximately $2,000 towards our startup costs goal of $5,000.  This has helped us get things moving forward, but we can still use your help!  If you would like to support us as we continue forward, you can get a response card here.  Fill it out and mail it back to us with your donation.  Thank you in advance for what you can do to help us bring the Good News to this part of Guatemala.

Travel to Duvall, WA & Kamloops, CAN
We will venture out to Duvall from November 5th to 12th.  This will coincide with an Impact Ministries Canada board meeting in Kamloops, Canada.  It will have been three years since we were out to Washington, and can't wait to visit and catch up with people!  While we are there we will need a place(s) to stay.  Also, if someone has a vehicle we could use while we are out there, that would be a huge blessing as well.

We want to try and see as many people as we can when we are out in Washington.  We will try to have some group gatherings where people can come and catch up with us and learn more about what is going on with Impact Ministries USA and Guatemala.

 Candy's Update
Great summer weather makes for great horse fun. As many of you know I give riding lessons to a small group of students at a small private farm. It has been a great summer with my steady riders over the summer. With all my travels this fall horseback riding and horse fun in general will be a bit sporadic. Please pray for my riding students. They are really great group of young ladies that remind me that God uses even the smallest of children to His Glory! Pray that those who know the Lord continue to grow in their faith and those do not to keep asking questions and seeking out to know Him.

I have quite a full workload at my full-time job and with working to get IMUSA moving, so I look forward to camping this next week to refresh and dig deeper into my summer biblestudy.

Tim's Update
This summer has been very busy at work!  We had one co-worker out on maternity leave and two other co-workers who left MIT for new jobs elsewhere.  So what is normally a slower time when we can get caught up on things has been even busier than the spring semester!  I am definitely looking forward to a week off camping out in the woods and being able to get away for a bit.

We toured Boston for a couple days with my parents, neice and nephew in early June.  We followed that up with a great (and quick) trip back to PA to see people we knew from Alliance Christian Fellowship (ACF) at Penn State.  It was a great time catching up with people and seeing all their kids!  I also turned 40 on August 10th, so I have now officially entered a new decade of life!  Not much has changed, although I see more grey hairs in my goatee and less hair on top of my head.  Oh well, such is life!  :)
