Delivered and dissected…
"Overlooked Artifacts" Opening Reception 10.25
In the spirit of collage, all paper has possibilities... so I often incorporate bits and pieces of the mail into my work. Lately it's become something of a compulsion! For my next exhibition, I've made collages from whatever was delivered in the mail each day during a three month period.
The collages are small works on paper, of paper: little jewels from the remnants of discarded and unanticipated imagery that mark the passage of time. They've been a challenge to work on—some days the pickings were slim, other days the potential ingredients were abundant, and on a few sad days (and Sundays), there was nothing in the mailbox.
Hope you can come by and see the results of this postal project! "Overlooked Artifacts" at Spark Gallery runs October 24th through November 17th. Special events include:
Opening Reception on Friday, October 25th, 6-9pm
First Friday on November 1st, 5-9pm
