Community is at the heart of all that we do, our local community and our artists and audience. In 2020 conversations and collaborations will shine as always.
Women Out Loud in 2020 falls on International Women’s Day and will be hosted by the wonderful YolanDa Brown, and features artists of the highest calibre such as Eleanor McEvoy, Gina Williams, Grace Petrie, Judith Owen, Oriel Glennen, Patty Griffin and Sarah Carroll. A one off event that is such a brilliant tradition of the festival which has it’s own stamp every year and 2020 will be magnificent.
Throughout the festival you can immerse yourself in a whole host of workshops and concerts. You will be able to get your hula hips and hands in to gear and participate in hula workshops with Aloha Baby dancers, and if the hips are a tad rusty you can get your strumming fingers in to gear with Aloha Baby ukulele workshops, all culminating in some wonderful interactive concerts… If you have an Hawaiian shirt now is the time to wear it... and grass skirts are welcome too. A mass hula/uke off will be in the making!!!!
If a spot of Vaudeville is to your liking we are also thrilled to welcome Ungus Ungus Ungus which equals fun, fun fun!!
Early in the new year we will highlight our Year Of Scotland events … but think bagpipes, think original tunes muster…. it will be bonnie!!!
