Dear Port Fairy Folk Festival Friend,

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Ralph McTell will be joining us for 2019.  He truly is one of the great storytellers, and is celebrating more than 50 years on the road. Known for his virtuoso guitar style, he is also a prolific and gifted songwriter. With a style that invites you into a unique world, he weaves a narrative that is both significant and poignant.

Ralph made his debut in 1968 with the album Eight Frames a Second and in 1974 the release of Streets of London earned him an Ivor Novello Award. In 2002 he was presented with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

We are also proud to be presenting two of Australia’s most iconic and regarded singer songwriters: Broderick Smith, who will be launching his book and album Man Out Of Time and Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission who will be premiering the new album Coldwater DFU, which was recorded in Memphis this year. The Festival also takes great pleasure in introducing to our audience multi Queensland Music Award winner Leanne Tennant and rising stars Greta Stanley, Little Quirks and STAV.
