Dear Port Fairy Folk Festival Friend,

The ExChange is an important international event taking place in Geelong’s Arts precinct, The Geelong Library & Heritage Centre, Platform (formerly Courthouse Youth Arts), Beav’s Bar, The Workers Club, Pistol Petes and fringe venues Analogue Academy and The Door Gallery Cafe, Fyansford.  The ExChange will feature panel discussions, keynote speakers, showcase concerts, and a host of development opportunities for the folk music industry. It focuses on economic development, industry partnerships, professional development, sector strategy, First Nations Artist panels and performances and more. This event is especially designed for all members of the industry and those interested in folk music and culture. 

The Opening NIght Gala will hosted by Derek Guille and will feature the presentation of Folk Alliance International’s Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr Jamie McKew, Founding Director of Port Fairy Folk Festival, OAM. In addition, it will feature concert performances by Gina Williams & Guy Ghouse - Port Fairy Artists’ Of The Year 2020, The East Pointers (CAN), Shane Howard and friends, as well as very special guests.

In addition special feature artists include Eleanor McEvoy (IRL), Marcia Howard and Shane Howard, and a special event Ned Kelly, featuring Ashley Davies, Derek Guille, Michelle Lewitt, Monique DiMattina, Rosie Westbrook and Shannon Bourne.

A visual arts exhibition, The Force of Folk, curated by young Geelong based arts practitioners will open at Platform Gallery, at 6:00pm on Monday 2 March and run for the duration of the ExChange.

The ExChange is a boutique industry micro-conference produced annually by Folk Alliance International, a non-profit based in Kansas City, USA.
