Keeping the church connected

We also plan to share in three ordinations based on calls to be considered by the World Conference: K. Scott Murphy is called to serve as a counselor to the president of the church and member of the quorum of the First Presidency; James A. Poirier and Steven E. Graffeo are called to serve as counselors to the Presiding Bishop and members of the Presiding Bishopric. A complete order of worship will be available by April 7 for those who will gather in homes and congregations to worship with us through the webcast:

Please join us in prayerful preparation for this worship and for the entire 2013 World Conference. See a complete World Conference webcast schedule and more announcements later in this newsletter.

The Herald series, Live Christ’s Peace, continues this month with “Justice and Joy: Sharing Christ’s Peace,” by President of Seventy Robin Linkhart. There is sacramental mystery in the act of sharing food around a table. It holds the power to birth relationship, unlock the chains of status, and free us to taste the peaceable kingdom where justice and joy flow freely, the hungry eat, and all needs are tended.

To subscribe to the Herald, visit www.HeraldHouse.org or contact subscriptions by e-mail or at 1-800-767-8181. Also check out the Herald Blog at http://heraldmagazine.wordpress.com and sign up to have commentary series articles delivered to your e-mail at www.CofChrist.org/subscribe.asp.

New Of Water and Spirit resources will provide foundational material for engaging children in what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and how discipleship is lived in Community of Christ. With exploration into church history, Enduring Principles, and Mission Initiatives, the resources make an excellent curriculum for classes with children already baptized and confirmed.

The entire English-speaking church is encouraged to use this material for children ages 7 to 11 in settings other than just baptism and confirmation preparation. With 12 lessons, it makes a wonderful quarter-long Sunday school curriculum or use it as a rich resource for your children’s club or group. Available through Herald House in June 2013.
