Introduction to Webtoons Storytelling

Go digital with webtoons, and learn from one of the best in the industry! Foo Swee Chin is known for her work in alternative comic books. Her comics are published in the United States and she has designed creepy characters for the horror video game, Lit.
Join Swee Chin in this hands-on workshop and use webtoon and manga elements to spruce up your work. What's more? Learn to use different effective dialogue bubbles and illustrations to convey your storytelling skills!

The Art of Horror Poetry

Write poetry with plenty of verve and a dash of horror! Three-time Bram Stoker Award-winning poet Christina Sng will show you how.
Christina Sng, who is well-known for her poetry and fiction in horror, will disclose the art of harnessing fear to astounding effect for your readers. You will even compose a poem or two in this workshop! Celebrate Halloween with some creepy compositions this October.

Get your brain jucies flowing in this workshop where you and your friends will learn to conceptualise a dynamic book cover based on an actual design assignment. Sharpen your pencils and power up your laptops!

Join the 8th Bai Meigui Translation Competition and you stand a chance to be featured at the Asian Festival of Children's Content (AFCC) 2023 for your translation of 周见信 (Zhou Jianxin)’s 《小松鼠与老榕树》 (White squirrel and the old banyan tree).
Do you have a knack for translation, and are between the age of 11 to 18? You've ticked all the boxes. If you win, you will also stand a chance to be mentored by the award-winning translator Helen Wang. Chosen translations will be published as a bilingual picture book and launched at 2023's AFCC! 我们通过大规模征集活动,鼓励作家、媒体人和文学爱好者,把新华文学作品制成视频、音频、动画和图像等多媒体形式。让过去默默平躺的作品一跃而起,展现其潜在的美学魅力.
征集作品从 2022年8 月1日起至2022年12 月 31 日止。优先考虑以历届新加坡文学奖华文组入围作品为题材的多媒体作品 从2004年起:www.bookcouncil.sg/slp-2022/slp-previous-editions

Living in the digital age now, we hope to ride on this wave of technology to promote Singapore Chinese literature through interactive, multimedia works. The Chinese Literary Channel is now seeking submissions. We encourage writers, media professionals and literature lovers to adapt and turn local Chinese literary works into video, audio or multimedia. Priority will be given to works based on past Singapore Literature Prize shortlisted titles.
