Poetic Hearts, Lingering Shadows Book Launch Highlights

The Poetic Hearts, Lingering Shadows exhibition will run until 5 May 2019, so head down to the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre to visit the exhibit, if you haven't already.

The Art of the Eye: Haiku and Photo-Haiga

This workshop is for those who wish to explore haiku writing (one breath poetry) and smart phone photography. Haiku writing is a kind of snapshot in words, whereas traditional haiga is the art of painting that incorporates a haiku poem.

This workshop is conducted by noted poet and educator Chris Mooney Singh.

Introduction to Storytelling I & II

If you are interested in storytelling, but don’t know where to start, these workshops are for you. In two 7-hour modules of hands-on training, you will gain a firm grounding in storytelling skills. You will leave with one ready to tell story and the tools and confidence to learn and tell more stories.

This workshop is conducted by well-established storyteller Sheila Wee.

Young Authors Scheme
with Catherine Khoo

10 June - 14 June | 9:30am – 12:30pm

You are never too young to write a book. Children get to learn to write their very own 3,000-word storybooks and improve descriptive and vocabulary skills.

This workshop is conducted by highly experienced author, educator, editor and publisher Catherine Khoo.

Introduction to Literary Translation
with Shelly Bryant
15 June | 9:30am – 12:00pm

The course will cover questions related to the process of literary translation, in three main parts: The Making of a Literary Translation, Translating Difficulties and The Making of the Translator.

This workshop is conducted by well-established poet, writer, and translator Shelly Bryant.
