Beyond Words Call for Manuscripts Now Open 

Submission call now open until 6 January 2023!

Here’s your opportunity to get your middle grade manuscript published! SBC is launching a call for manuscripts in Chinese, Malay or Tamil written for children aged 8 to 12 years. Successful applicants will work with a publisher to have their manuscripts published in print and digital formats. Find out more here!

This call is part of the Beyond Words project supported by the National Arts Council to promote the growth of Chinese, Malay and Tamil children’s literature and is open only to Singaporeans and Singapore PRs.

We Are Looking for Programmes Coordinators and Interns!

We are looking for all of you passionate about the literary arts and Sing Lit to help out with some of our programmes, such as the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) and Words Go Round!

Positions open:

  • Programmes Coordinators

  • Programmes Interns

Anyone who is keen to acquire project management skills, gain experience and contribute to the literary arts sector is welcome to apply. These positions are on project-basis and priority will be given to candidates who can commit to the duration of the entire project.

You are invited: Get-together for translators

7 January 2023, Saturday, 2.30pm (SGT) | SBC Training Room | Free

Start your new year with a gathering for translators and writers! We are organising this for anyone and everyone who is interested in literary translation. We will share our 2023 programmes, and some of the apprentices of Singapore Apprenticeship in Literary Translation (SALT) will also give short presentations.

We are building a community for translators and writers working in the different languages and we want you to be a part of it! There will be light refreshments, so do come down!
