Bringing Neighbors Together to Build Community
Add Your Voice: Become a Voting Member of WeCAN
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
WeCAN strives to keep our neighbors up-to-date and informed about happenings in the West Colfax neighborhood. Over the last year WeCAN has brought several updates on a redevelopment project at 17th Ave. and Meade St. by Zocalo Development to our General Meetings.

Zocalo Development has refined their proposed development for 17th and Newton and would like to formally submit it to the neighborhood for consideration regarding a letter of support. Please see below in the 'WeCAN General Meeting - February 13' section for more information on their request.

Members will vote on whether or not WeCAN will write a letter to support this rezone request, and you must be present at the February 13th meeting to cast your vote. WeCAN Membership is free and available to any individual who lives or owns property in the West Colfax neighborhood, but you must be registered as a WeCAN member at to vote.

Kind Regards,

Leah Rounds & Dave Justice

WeCAN Co-Presidents

Great news!  Denver Digs Trees 2018 applications are now available. Click here to APPLY FOR FREE & LOW-COST TREES. Application Deadline: Feb 15th. Don't delay, trees tend to sell out quickly! Apply early for best selection. Come learn more about the program at our February 13th meeting.

Accessory Dwelling Units

Denver's population is growing and, as the density of the City of Denver continues to increase, residents need to continue to look into ways to absorb that growth.

Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), also known as carriage houses, laneway homes, granny flats or backyard apartments, can be a potential piece of that solution.  ADUs are one solution to desperately needed housing, and can be done without destroying the charm that drew many of us to West Colfax.

At our February 13th meeting learn about the process and costs of adding an ADU to your property from a West Colfax neighbor who has already done it!
